Why such a long pause after the 7th
Bike Trophy?
Is is due to
my special adventure in the garage where I was trying to repaint my old car and
got poisoned.I needed some weeks to recover and the planned Bike Trophy in June
2004 was cancelled. Afterwards I had much work with the new real estate agency.

What is new in the 8th
Bike Trophy, planned for Posočje on June 15?
Bike Trophy is different
compared to marathons or races – as it joins cycling, orientation and
photography, which turns you off everyday
experiences, puts you in a role of Tarzan
in pure nature, seeking the path and yourself... Looking for orientation sites
will sharpen your senses, and you will have to think and collaborate as a team
after coming across brief but ambiguous instructions in rhymes!! Two heads are
better than one! And when you still hesitate, you can take a SOS aid with
instructions out of a sealed envelope, which costs you some points. On each of
the
total twenty control sites the whole equipe has to sign and take a picture of
themselves before continuing quickly to the next goal which has been shown on
the new list of instructions. If there is a fallen trunk in front of you, you
will have to climb it over or choose longer way on the road. The choice is yours
and on the map in measure 1: 50,000 received at the start, there are no
orientation points. The best line must be chosen by yourself. The equipes start
at the interval of some minutes and get the instructions for the first control
point only with the starter's signal.
Why such a long pause after the 7th
Bike Trophy?
The most important change is the
duration of the event – this time it is only one day, as in Goriška Brda was not
possible to find pricely accomodation in one place (only rooms on different
tourist farms with no group discount), which would make our adventure more
expensive – 7,000 Euros for 100 participants! In my opinion the one-day Bike
Trophy will be more acceptible for majority.The parallel Bike easy will be
possible on the same day on different valley trails leading to the same finish
line!Start will be later so that the 'Tarzans' get enough courage and hope for
winning, supported by their families and less prepared participants.We will ''kill
two birds with one stone”, as an old English saying goes.... for the whole
family could participate in the event. New is also the internationality of the
adventure – as it takes part near the Three Frontiers. Also the image of the
starting portal will be new, and it will be performed more professionally. There
are some other positive changes, but I am not going to reveal them all now.

Bike Trophy, some information about the rules for those who don't know the
adventure?
The team application is mandatory – the group of 2-4 members – because of safety
purposes and easier repairs...
The 8th
Bike Trophy will be on June 15
starting at Bovec, discovering the emerald
green Soča and its beauties. There will be a lot of surprise, good company, food,
drinks, entertainment with music in the end. For those who don't like travelling
too long before the start on Sunday morning, the rooms for moderate prices can
be organized to overnight from Saturday to Sunday.
